La cosa empezó hace unas semanas, cuando Martin Freeman citó entre las razones para no volver a la serie el que PARTE DE LOS FANS QUERÍAN QUE HOLMES & WATSON SE LIASEN!!
“There was a chunk of people who just knew it was going to end with us getting together,
Me and Ben, we have literally never, never played a moment like lovers. We ain’t f***ing lovers.”
“I think after series four [it] felt like a pause. I think we felt we’d done it for a bit now. And part of it, speaking for myself, is [due to] the reception of it.”
“People’s expectations, some of it’s not fun any more.
It’s not a thing to be enjoyed, it’s a thing of: ‘You better f***ing do this, otherwise you’re a c***.’ That’s not fun any more.”
Declaraciones que Cumberbatch le ha afeado en estos terminos:
“It’s pretty pathetic if that’s all it takes to let you not want to take a grip of your reality.”
“What, because of expectations? I don’t know. I don’t necessarily agree with that.”
Como suele pasar con los grandes duos, parece que los artistas no se soportan más. ¡No esperéis muchas escenas de Strange y el agente Ross...!
Mientras, los productores dijeron esto hace tiempo:
“Nobody has ever closed the door on Sherlock – we just say the same thing all the time and it gets quoted different ways.
We haven’t got an immediate plan, but I would remain surprised, given the collective enthusiasm we have for it, if we didn’t do it again.
When, I don’t know. I think maybe the time for a longer gap is upon us, I don’t know. A longer gap? They’re always long gaps!”
Gatiss añadió a Moffat:
“We’re doing Dracula, which is going to take two years at least.
We’re not going to do Sherlock whilst we’re doing Dracula. So it’s not going to happen in the immediate future. Never say never, but no – we don’t have an idea [right now].”
“I could see us making more Sherlocks. I could see us making Sherlocks way in the future.
It’s not the kind of show that has to come back all the time. It can revisit. Every time Sherlock comes back it’s a reunion show.”
