Magnífica portada de Nguyen, uno de tantos autores cuyo trabajo se ha "diluido" en la industria hasta hacerlo ilocalizable.
ARRANCA LA 9º SEMANA GÓTICA DE MADRID CON LA EXPOSICIÓN "RELATOS SIN MONSTRUO DE H.P. LOVECRAFT"
Con este precioso cartel arranca la Semana Gótica de este año y lo hace con una exposición que, como buena parte de ella, este año está dedicada a H. P. Lovecraft.
Es interesante que se ilustren los RELATOS SIN MONSTRUO del autor, por que en muchas ocasiones las partes más interesantes de su obra quedan eclipsadas bajo la sombra del ciclópeo Cthulhu.
Precisamente mi ponencia en el próximo CONGRESO versa también sobre esos temas, explorando sobre todo los relatos del CÍCLO ONÍRICO y su SIMBOLISMO ESPIRITUAL, además de compararlos con el escritor con quien más semejanzas tiene: J.R.R. TOLKIEN.
¡Os animo una vez más a participar en todas estas actividades que seguro disfrutaréis tanto como todos los que ya somos habituales!

LA NUEVA TELE MARVEL: POSTERS DE CLOAK AND DAGGER, RUNAWAYS, JESSICA JONES Y AGENTS OF SHIELD

JAMES CAMERON RELANZA TERMINATOR 6, CONTINUACIÓN DE LA 2: "EL RESTO HA SIDO UN MAL SUEÑO"
El productor recupera las derechos de su franquicia, y está dispuesto a crear una NUEVA TRILOGÍA.
Regresan Schwarzenegger y Linda Hamilton, y dirige Tim Miller, de Deadpool.
“I got out of the Terminator business after Terminator 2 because I didn’t control the underlying IP. I had sold it off very early on when I was nobody, not a director, nothing, and I was just thrilled to be working on a movie.
You know, when I became aware of the fact that I could get back into a control position on the rights, then I started to ask myself, artistically, is there anything there? Is there anything to be said that I haven’t already said, and that would even be relevant in the 2020s, when these hypothetical films would come out? I thought, ‘Well, let’s look at that.’
I mean, a lot of the things that were science fiction in Terminator are now around us. You know, from predator drones and actual discussions on the ethics on having a robot have its own kill decision possibilities, things like that.
It’s actually happening. So, Okay, maybe there is room for a film that examines these themes. It just has to be retooled for an audience’ expectations from now.”
“This is a continuation of the story from Terminator 1 and Terminator 2. And we’re pretending the other films were a bad dream. Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multi-verse.
This was really driven more by [Tim] than anybody, surprisingly, because I came in pretty agnostic about where we took it. The only thing I insisted on was that we somehow revamp it and reinvent it for the 21st century.”
“We don’t have to get around it. The beauty of it is, he’s a cyborg, and so the ‘org’ part is on the outside, meaning organism. And Reese says it in the first film, ‘They sweat. They have bad breath,’ because they were supposed to be infiltration units. So there’s the idea that there’s this flesh, sort of, sheath over a metal endoskeleton, and so that would age. And so it ages normally.
So, obviously he’s one that’s been in action and operation for a long time. And that’s all I want to say about the actual story part of it. But it’s actually quite intrinsic to the story, that he’s subject to the frailties of the flesh. In fact, in the first film, the flesh is burned away completely but that endo-skeleton… has a power cell that will last 100 years. So, he’s still got 30, 29 years.”
“Emotionally and intellectually, he will have evolved. They’re learning machines. But I think that’s a way to make it different than it was. I think we should embrace his age. And that’s what’s going to make it interesting and fresh for the fans. And I can’t tell you, but man, some of the scenes that the writers wrote to embrace that idea are f–king fantastic.”

LA GUERRA DE LOS MUNDOS, POR VICENTE CIFUENTES
Publicados el pasado año por Glénat BD, un par de álbumes guionizados por Dobbs han adaptado esta seminal obra de Wells, como parte de toda una línea con otras adaptaciones de este autor.
Dobbs ha realizado ya alguna otra incursión trasladando al cómic clásicos de la literatura.
Los dos tomos dedicados a la invasión marciana han sido dibujados por nuestro querido y admirado Vicente Cifuentes, y aquí os ofrecemos algunas ilustraciones realizadas para ellos.
Nos comunica que en breve tendrán edición española.
Volveremos sobre Wells y el resto de estas adaptaciones.

GEOFF JOHNS & DIANE NELSON: EL UNIVERSO DC TENDRÁ CONTINUIDAD "PERO MENOS"
Las nuevas declaraciones del Dúo Dinámico no solo no aclaran nada sobre el futuro REAL de las producciones DC, ni incluyen la más mínima asumpción de culpabilidad en los cuatro desastres fílmicos que llevamos, sino que demuestran de nuevo que no tienen ni la más mínima idea de lo que quieren, igualito que al principio.
Y como no hay nada que decir, ¡VAMOS A METERNOS CON LA CONTINUIDAD DE NUEVO!
Abre fuego Diane Nelson:
Let’s rethink that whole universe thing. They’re not giving up on the idea of continuity, but they want to deemphasize the idea that all of these flicks are occupying the same space.
“Our intention, certainly, moving forward is using the continuity to help make sure nothing is diverging in a way that doesn’t make sense, but there’s no insistence upon an overall story line or interconnectivity in that universe,”
Y remata Geoff Johns:
“The movie’s not about another movie. Some of the movies do connect the characters together, like Justice League.
But, like with Aquaman our goal is not to connect Aquaman to every movie. Moving forward, you’ll see the DC movie universe being a universe, but one that comes from the heart of the filmmaker who’s creating them.”
Es muy gracioso que Nelson diga que la Continuidad la van a usar solo para que LAS COSAS TENGAN SENTIDO, cuando llevan CUATRO GUIONES que no hay por donde cogerlos, no se entienden.
Y las declaraciones de Johns ya es que son de risa: "Una película no es sobre otra película..." ¿Se están refiriendo a Marvel...? ¿Marvel mete demasiada continuidad...?
Siguen insistiendo en "distinguirse de Marvel", cuando el que se distingue de los bien hecho cae en LO MAL HECHO, claro.
El mísmo espíritu con el que hace unos meses Didio y Lee acusaron a los fans de "pedir demasiada continuidad". La eliminaron para reinstaurarla COMPLETA a los seis meses.
Ahora se ve que estamos pidiendo demasiada continuidad en las películas. Más de la que cabe en sus pobres cabecitas.
Confirman, de paso, que sale adelante el sello, AÚN SIN NOMBRE, que ofrecerá otras versiones de sus personajes.
¡Eso es todo lo que confían en el Joker de Leto, que ya lo quieren enmendar con uno nuevo...!
Y para rematar dice Johns que "el universo DC vendrá del corazón de los directores".
Como no sea el de Whedon...
